Why a small business is often the lower-risk choice
The instinct is that a larger integrator is safer. On a large multi-year programme that is frequently true. On a defined technical scope it often is not, for reasons worth stating plainly.
- The people who pitch are the people who deliver. At our size there is no bench to swap in after award.
- Set-aside eligibility shortens the acquisition timeline, which on a fiscal-year deadline is frequently the binding constraint rather than technical capability.
- Overhead shows up in rates. You are paying for engineering rather than for a programme management layer that exists to coordinate other layers.

The honest counterweight: for a programme needing hundreds of cleared staff, a security infrastructure we do not operate, or a prime’s bonding capacity, we are the wrong answer and we will say so early rather than at proposal.
