Our Infrastructure Delivery Model & Approach
Assess & Align
We begin with a deep assessment of your existing infrastructure, business priorities, and risk landscape. This helps us align technology decisions with operational goals, performance expectations, and compliance requirements from day one.
Architect & Optimize
Our architects design future-ready infrastructure models optimized for scalability, cost efficiency, security, and reliability. We focus on right-sizing environments, reducing technical debt, and building architectures that support growth without disruption.
Automate & Integrate
Automation is embedded across provisioning, monitoring, remediation, and service workflows. By integrating tools, platforms, and processes, we minimize manual intervention, improve consistency, and accelerate response times across environments.
Operate & Govern
We provide continuous infrastructure operations with clear governance, SLAs, and service ownership. Proactive monitoring, incident management, and performance tuning ensure stability while maintaining visibility and control.
Improve & Evolve
Infrastructure is never static. We continuously analyze performance, usage patterns, and emerging risks to drive ongoing optimization. This enables incremental improvements, smoother scaling, and long-term resilience as business needs change.
Infrastructure management services, as this page uses the term, mean designing, modernizing and managing resilient IT infrastructure that supports business continuity, scalability and performance. Below, the ten services above are grouped by what each one manages, the five-step delivery model is drawn as the sequence and the loop it describes, and the two frameworks the page names, ITIL and SIAM, are explained, followed by what you receive, what moves the cost and what to ask any provider.
From Managed IMS Services to Data Center Management, each one listed above.
Assess & Align through Improve & Evolve, in the order the page gives them.
ITIL-aligned process design, and SIAM for multi-vendor environments.

IT infrastructure services on this page, layer by layer
The ten services above fall into two kinds. Five of them each manage one layer of the estate, from the data center up to the business-critical applications that run on it. The other five are not tied to one layer: running the whole environment as a managed service, integrating several providers, designing the service processes, choosing the architecture and the technology, and turning infrastructure data into insight. Figure 1 sets them out in the page's own service names.
Figure 1. The ten infrastructure services, grouped by what each one manages
Caption: every name in the figure is a service listed on this page. The grouping is by what each service's own description says it manages; the highlighted layer is the data center, where the page names backup and recovery, disaster recovery, directory services and remote monitoring. The figure adds no number.
For application management services, the service on this page is Application Operations: high availability, performance and reliability across business-critical systems, with downtime reduced and incident response improved through proactive monitoring and continuous optimization. Managing IT infrastructure below the applications is split across the four layers under it, and the five services on the right of Figure 1 are not tied to any one layer.
How the delivery model runs, step by step
The page describes its infrastructure delivery model in five steps. Each one, restated with what it produces:
- Assess & AlignA deep assessment of your existing infrastructure, business priorities and risk landscape, so technology decisions line up with operational goals, performance expectations and compliance requirements from day one.Assessment
- Architect & OptimizeFuture-ready infrastructure models designed for scalability, cost efficiency, security and reliability, with environments right-sized and technical debt reduced.Design
- Automate & IntegrateAutomation embedded across provisioning, monitoring, remediation and service workflows, with tools, platforms and processes integrated to cut manual intervention.Automation
- Operate & GovernContinuous infrastructure operations with clear governance, SLAs and service ownership, backed by proactive monitoring, incident management and performance tuning.Operations
- Improve & EvolveContinuous analysis of performance, usage patterns and emerging risks, driving incremental improvements and smoother scaling as business needs change.Optimization
Figure 2. Three steps in order, then two that the page calls continuous
Caption: step names and the word continuous are the page's own, from Operate & Govern (continuous infrastructure operations) and Improve & Evolve (we continuously analyze). The short lines under each name compress that step's description above. No duration is given for any step, so none is drawn.
Hybrid cloud and cloud infrastructure management
NIST defines a hybrid cloud, in Special Publication 800-145, as a cloud infrastructure that is "a composition of two or more distinct cloud infrastructures (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities, but are bound together by standardized or proprietary technology that enables data and application portability". The Hybrid Cloud Services on this page design, deploy and manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments that balance flexibility, scalability and control, with automation, monitoring, security and ongoing operational support.
That is the part of this page that manages cloud infrastructure. Moving workloads to the cloud is covered on our cloud migration and optimization page.
ITIL process design compared with SIAM
PeopleCert, which runs the ITIL qualification scheme, describes ITIL as "the global best practice framework for digital product and service management" and says it "connects strategy, design, delivery, and continual improvement through a single, integrated lifecycle." SIAM, service integration and management, is the page's second framework. The page's own descriptions show what each is for:
Where each one applies
ITIL Process Design
What the page says it does- Implements practical ITIL-aligned processes that standardize service delivery
- Aims at service consistency and operational efficiency
- Applies wherever service delivery needs standard processes
Service Integration and Management (SIAM)
What the page says it does- Brings structure and governance to complex multi-vendor environments
- Integrates services across providers for visibility and accountability
- Applies where several providers each deliver part of one service
What you receive from an infrastructure engagement
The contact section on this page lists what happens next: we schedule a call at your convenience, run a short, bounded discovery scoped per engagement, and give you a costed roadmap before committing to a build. After that, each step of the delivery model hands you something you can hold it to:
- An assessment of your existing infrastructure, business priorities and risk landscape, with compliance requirements captured from day one
- Infrastructure models designed for scalability, cost efficiency, security and reliability, with environments right-sized
- Automation across provisioning, monitoring, remediation and service workflows, with tools, platforms and processes integrated
- Continuous operations under clear governance, SLAs and named service ownership
- Monitoring and analytics that show system performance, usage patterns and operational efficiency
- Ongoing optimization as performance, usage and risks change
What infrastructure management costs, and what moves the number
Our rates are $150 to $250 per hour, depending on the seniority and mix of the team. Where the scope is clear we quote a fixed price for a defined outcome, with a costed roadmap before any build starts. Our IT consulting page draws the general line between the two kinds of purchase: consulting is bounded and priced as a fixed fee for a defined scope or as time and materials, while managed services are ongoing and priced monthly, usually per user or per device.
What goes into the estimate is the scope, and these are the scope lines the services on this page name:
- Which of the ten services the engagement includes
- How many providers the service spans, which is where SIAM comes in
- Hybrid and multi-cloud environments alongside the data center
- Compliance requirements identified at the assessment step
- Data center scope: backup and recovery, disaster recovery, directory services and remote monitoring
- How much of provisioning, monitoring, remediation and service workflows is to be automated
What to ask IT infrastructure providers
These questions apply to any provider, Sthenos included. Each one comes from a service or a step on this page.
- Who owns each service, and which SLAs apply to it? Operate & Govern names clear governance, SLAs and service ownership.
- Which providers are in scope, and who integrates them? That is the job SIAM does in a multi-vendor environment.
- Which processes will be ITIL-aligned, and who owns each one? ITIL Process Design is a named service here.
- What is automated across provisioning, monitoring, remediation and service workflows, and what stays manual? Automate & Integrate names all four.
- Which backup, recovery and disaster recovery services are in scope? Data Center Management lists them.
- What will the monitoring show you, and how often will you see it? Infrastructure Analytics names visibility into system performance, usage patterns and operational efficiency.
Questions buyers ask about infrastructure management
What does IT infrastructure support include?
On this page it is the Operate & Govern step: continuous operations with clear governance, SLAs and service ownership, with proactive monitoring, incident management and performance tuning. Data Center Management adds backup and recovery, disaster recovery, directory services and remote monitoring. Helpdesk and application support tiers are on our managed services page.
Do you offer IT infrastructure consulting services?
Yes. Two parts of this page are advisory rather than operational: Infrastructure Architecture and IT Selection, which designs future-ready infrastructure and selects technology in line with business goals, and the Assess & Align step, which assesses your existing infrastructure, priorities and risks before any technology decision. Our IT consulting services page describes how a bounded engagement runs.
What does automation in infrastructure management cover?
The Automate & Integrate step embeds automation across provisioning, monitoring, remediation and service workflows, and integrates tools, platforms and processes so that manual intervention falls, consistency improves and response times speed up across environments.
What is a hybrid cloud?
NIST SP 800-145 defines it as "a composition of two or more distinct cloud infrastructures (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities, but are bound together by standardized or proprietary technology that enables data and application portability." The Hybrid Cloud Services on this page design, deploy and manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
What is SIAM?
Service integration and management. On this page it is the service that brings structure and governance to complex multi-vendor environments, integrating services across providers to improve service visibility, accountability, operational efficiency and overall service quality.
How is infrastructure management priced?
Our rates are $150 to $250 per hour, depending on the seniority and mix of the team, and where the scope is clear we quote a fixed price for a defined outcome, with a costed roadmap before any build starts. The scope lines that move the estimate are listed in the cost section above.
