Angular Development Methodology
Requirement Gathering
We begin by collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, functional requirements, target users, and technical constraints. Through discovery sessions, workshops, and documentation reviews, we define the application scope, key features, and success metrics to ensure alignment from day one.
Project Planning
Based on the gathered requirements, our team creates a detailed project plan outlining timelines, milestones, technology stack, architecture approach, resource allocation, and third-party integrations. This phase establishes clear expectations and minimizes risks before development begins.
UI/UX Design
Our UI/UX designers create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs focused on usability, accessibility, and performance. Every interface is crafted to deliver a consistent, intuitive user experience while aligning with brand guidelines and responsive design standards.
Development Iterations
We follow an iterative and incremental development approach using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. The project is divided into manageable sprints, allowing continuous delivery, early feedback, and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
Angular Development
Our Angular developers implement the planned features using Angular best practices, modular architecture, and clean coding standards. We focus on building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications with reusable components and optimized state management.
Testing and Quality Assurance
Quality is built into every stage of development. We conduct comprehensive testing, including unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and performance testing. Bugs, vulnerabilities, and performance issues are identified early and resolved to ensure a stable application.
Deployment and Launch
Once testing is complete, we handle deployment to the target environment. This includes server setup, environment configuration, database deployment, CI/CD pipeline setup, and release management to ensure a smooth and secure launch.
Maintenance and Support
After launch, we provide ongoing maintenance and support services. This includes monitoring application performance, fixing bugs, applying security patches, and implementing updates to keep the application stable, secure, and up to date.
Continuous Improvement
We believe in continuous optimization. By analyzing user feedback, usage metrics, and application performance, we identify improvement opportunities and implement enhancements. This iterative feedback loop ensures long-term scalability, performance optimization, and evolving feature development.

How long each Angular version is supported
Angular's release page says to expect a major release every 12 months, and that every major release is typically supported for 24 months: 12 months of active support with regularly scheduled updates and patches, then 12 months of long-term support in which only critical fixes and security patches are released. The same page marks versions 2 to 19 as no longer supported. Angular migration and upgrades, one of the ten services on this page, moves applications onto the latest Angular framework.

Caption: bar lengths are proportional to the dates on Angular's release page (angular.dev/reference/releases), read 2026-09-11: v20 released 28 May 2025, active to 19 November 2025, long-term support to 28 November 2026; v21 released 19 November 2025, active to 3 June 2026, long-term support to June 2027; v22 released 3 June 2026, active to June 2027, long-term support to June 2028. Dates published as a month only are drawn from the first of that month, and Google marks the dates approximate and subject to change. The AngularJS date is from angularjs.org.
AngularJS compared with Angular
AngularJS and Angular are different frameworks, and the difference decides whether a legacy application needs an upgrade or a migration. Angular migration and upgrades on this page covers both: moving legacy applications or older AngularJS versions to the latest Angular framework.
Angular
Status, from angular.dev- A web framework maintained by a dedicated team at Google
- A major release every 12 months, each typically supported for 24 months
- Updates run with the ng update command, one major version at a time
- A deprecated API stays in at least the next major release before it becomes a candidate for removal
AngularJS
Status, from angularjs.org- The older framework; angularjs.org invites readers to try the new Angular
- Support officially ended as of January 2022
- Its site sends readers to the actively supported Angular
- The migration service on this page moves AngularJS applications to the latest Angular
How an Angular upgrade runs
Google's release page sets the rule for any upgrade, whichever Angular development firm performs it: you can update to a version with ng update if the target version is supported and the version you start from is within one major version of it. Across several major versions, the update runs one major version at a time.
- Confirm the targetThe version you update to must still be supported.
- One major at a timeFrom version 10 to 12, update 10 to 11, then 11 to 12, in Google's own example.
- Run ng updateCode transformations Google often tests ahead of time, plus the Angular Update Guide's steps.
- Clear deprecationsReplace deprecated APIs before a major release removes them.
What you receive at each stage
Angular app development services on this page run through nine stages, and the contact process on this site ends in a costed roadmap before a build is committed to. Each stage of the Angular development methodology above produces something you can hold it to:

What Angular development costs, and what moves the number
Sthenos publishes two bands: an hourly rate band and a typical project band. Where the scope is clear we quote a fixed price for a defined outcome, with a costed roadmap before any build starts.
What goes into the estimate is the scope. These are the scope lines the services on this page name:
- A new web application, or a migration from AngularJS or an older Angular version
- Mobile apps built with Angular and Ionic or NativeScript as well as the web app
- Backend integration and third-party systems
- Reusable components and plugins for use across projects
- Testing depth: unit, end-to-end, performance and cross-browser
- Training and workshops for your own team, and support after launch
What to ask an Angular development company
These questions apply to any Angular development services company, Sthenos included. Each comes from a stage on this page or from Angular's own release policy.
- Which Angular version will the application start on, and is it inside Google's support window? Angular's release page lists which versions are active, which are in long-term support, and which are no longer supported.
- If we are on AngularJS or an older Angular, what is the path, and is it an upgrade or a migration? Angular updates run one major version at a time; AngularJS is a separate framework whose support has ended.
- How will deprecated APIs be found and replaced before a major release removes them? Google keeps a deprecated API for at least the next major release, then it becomes a candidate for removal.
- What testing is included, and on which browsers? The services on this page name unit, end-to-end, performance and cross-browser testing.
- Who owns the CI/CD pipeline and release management after launch? The deployment stage names both.
- Which components will be built for reuse, and where will they live? Reusable components and plugins are one of the ten services on this page.
